First launch
acceler8 asks for Accessibility so it can see the Option tap (System Settings, Privacy & Security, Accessibility). The first sequence that drives Excel through its dictionary asks for Automation for Microsoft Excel. Grant both once. The menu bar item says 32 sequences, ready when everything is in place, and Accessibility not granted when it is not.
Excel's own KeyTips
Excel for Mac 16.89 and later arms its own KeyTips on Option, with letters that follow the Mac ribbon. To stop the two features arming on the same tap, set Excel > Preferences > Accessibility > KeyTips > Activation keystroke to Shift+Option. acceler8 keeps Option and can still drive the native KeyTips through the keytips action kind.
A sequence did nothing
Choose Show log from the menu bar item. Every sequence writes a line; one marked FAILED names the AppleScript error or the menu title it could not find. tap NOT installed means Accessibility is not granted for this copy of the app. Reinstalling to a different folder or a different build can reset that grant: switch it off and on again in System Settings.
Changing sequences
Edit mappings.json in the menu opens ~/Library/Application Support/acceler8/mappings.json. Save and the app reloads. A file that does not parse keeps the last good mapping and shows the error in the menu. To check an AppleScript body before saving it, wrap it in tell application "Microsoft Excel" ... end tell and run osacompile.
Your license
Your key is in the purchase email and on the page after checkout. Paste it with Enter License Key in the menu, or open the acceler8://activate link from the email. One key works on every Mac you use, at work and at home. Lost it? Recover it here.
Work Macs without admin rights
Drag acceler8 into ~/Applications instead of /Applications. It runs the same and asks for nothing. If your organisation's profile blocks Accessibility for unmanaged apps, acceler8 cannot see the Option tap there and the menu says so.
