Privacy
acceler8 runs on your Mac. It has no account, no analytics and no tracking, and Innov8ive Labs, LLC does not receive anything about how you use it.
What stays on your Mac
- Keystrokes. acceler8 reads the keyboard only while Excel is the front application, only to notice a bare Option tap and the letters that follow it, and it keeps none of them. Nothing typed is stored or sent anywhere.
- Your sequences, in
~/Library/Application Support/acceler8/mappings.json. - A log of the sequences that ran, in
~/Library/Logs/acceler8.log, which you can delete at any time. - Your trial start and your license key, in your Keychain.
What leaves your Mac, and why
- Updates: acceler8 checks acceler8.i8l.tech for a newer version. The request carries the version you have and macOS's usual system profile, nothing about you. Switch automatic checks off in the update prompt if you prefer.
- Purchases: buying at acceler8.i8l.tech goes through Stripe, which receives your email and payment details. We keep your email and order number so we can send and recover your license key. The license check itself happens on your Mac and never phones home.
Permissions
acceler8 asks for Accessibility once, at first launch, because that is what lets it see the Option tap. It asks for Automation for Microsoft Excel the first time a sequence drives Excel through its scripting dictionary. It asks for nothing else.
